A new year. A new perspective.
I’m not always sold on new year’s resolutions. Especially now. After 2020, my day-to-day goals are less about improving or achieving and more about….existing, appreciating the present, and all that jazz. Some days are easier than others.
I recently caught a podcast from This American Life called The Show of Delights. And it was exactly what I needed to hear. Inspired by Ross Gay and the collection of essays he wrote in The Book of Delights, the podcast features a handful of stories focused on finding delight.
I like this. It’s a twist on the ever-popular gratitude practice, which can, admittedly, be difficult for me sometimes. But finding delight – that I can do.
So, for the next 360 days (because, you know, I’m always running a few days behind), I will seek to find and capture delight. At least once per day. Document it and share it.
Thank you, Ross, for the inspiration.
